About
Two partners, one plan, and the tax work in the room.
We do one trade. Everything below is what that buys you and where the limits are.
Two partners, and the tax work stays in the room.
Steve spent eighteen years trading NASDAQ and then NYSE stock before moving into planning in 2013. David has spent close to two decades working with retirees and people approaching retirement. Between them they hold the CFP, ChFC, CRPC and TPCP designations, and both are Series 7 and 66 licensed through LPL Financial.
The one that matters most here is the TPCP. Tax planning is the part of this work most advisors refer out, which is how it ends up happening after the decisions rather than before them. Steve is the only CFP, ChFC, CRPC and TPCP at the firm, and the tax conversation happens at the same table as the portfolio.

How we are held
Four commitments, in writing.
Client's interests first
We will always put our client's interests first. A fiduciary is legally obligated to act solely in the client's best interest, not the investment firm's.
Prudence
We will act with prudence; that is, with the skill, care, diligence, and good judgment of a professional.
Full and fair disclosure
We will not mislead clients, and will provide conspicuous, full and fair disclosure of all important facts.
Conflicts, managed in your favour
We will fully disclose and fairly manage, in our client's favor, any unavoidable conflicts.
How the work runs
Five steps, and you always know which one you are on.
- Step 1
Discovery
We look at where you actually are.
Our process begins by looking at your current situation — examining where you have saved, how you are being taxed, and evaluating your current investment strategy. Not what the plan was supposed to be. What it is.
- Step 2
The three buckets
We sort what you have by how it is taxed.
Every dollar you own sits in one of three buckets, and the bucket decides what it costs you to use it. Taxable money is invested with after-tax dollars and you pay on interest, dividends and capital gains. Tax-deferred lowers your taxable income now and is taxed as ordinary income later. Tax-free is invested with after-tax dollars, grows deferred, and comes out untaxed. Most people have never been shown their own split.
- Step 3
Risk & objective
We agree the risk before we agree the plan.
Together we will discuss your risk tolerance and investment objective to develop a plan made specifically for you. That conversation comes before any recommendation, because a portfolio you cannot hold through a bad quarter is not a plan.
- Step 4
The build
We build it in five levels, from the bottom up.
Essential needs first — income for day-to-day living. Then discretionary needs: travel, entertaining, hobbies, charity. Then accumulating wealth, the growth assets you do not need now. Then preserving wealth through tax-efficient investing, life insurance, long-term care and structured investments. Wealth transfer sits at the top, and only stands up if everything under it does.
- Step 5
Ongoing
We stay in it, because the plan will need to change.
Financial planning is never a straight line of point A to point B. It requires adaptability to economic changes, global events and unforeseen life circumstances. With careful monitoring and adjustments, we're here to guide you in this ongoing journey.

I truly enjoy getting to know each of my clients and helping them pursue their own unique goals. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment when we can deliver a plan that will work toward something that is priceless; financial confidence.
Next step
Start with a conversation, not a pitch.
An initial conversation, at no cost and no obligation. We look at what you have and how it is currently taxed before anyone recommends moving anything.
