Eastern White Pine runs from the Great Lakes through New England and up into the Maritimes. Our supply comes off mills across that range, which is also why it is finite — there is no substitute region for it.

Substitutes for
In interior paneling and paint-grade siding, white pine holds pattern and finish at a materially different cost. Not a swap where unfinished exterior exposure is the point.
Substitutes for
Shop and moulding stock is the cleanest crossover. Similar working properties, and when the West Coast shop market tightens this is where buyers land.

Paint-grade millwork and trim. Lighter, more stable, and it machines with less tearout.

Appearance boards where the face matters. A better-looking board off the same rack space.
Do not substitute
White pine is not a treated or structural product. If the application is load-bearing or in the dirt, we will move you to the right species instead of selling you the wrong one.
